This is a simple yet equally imposing task that is a highly encouraged to do every morning for people with self-esteem.
Self esteem being low is something which I have faced in the past. However one thing I started to incorporate is simply making my bed in the morning. A fresh start to my day if you will, this has made great efforts in boosting my self-esteem and I believe it will help you too,
What is the Point of Even Doing This?
A 7 letter word: Routine: A person with a strong routine has structure, has power, and has the ability to think. Let me just say that my father would always berate me to make my bed. I was a typical kid, clothes on the floor, candy wrappers under the bed, spare change all scattered across my wooden desk. My father would punish me every single time my room was dirty, saying how I can’t think. Only now in hindsight I can finally understand what he means.
Can you see through murky water? Probably Not. Imagine if the water was clear though. That is my father’s principal in its entirety. While for one thing you can’t physically see anything in your room if it is cluttered. Truth be told we can’t see mentally see anything as well. Having a clean mind would mean you could think clearly and then you would be able to perceive things better.
Having a Clearer, Healthier Mind
Having a routine Be like making up the bed in the morning has benefits toward the brain. The brain is not a muscle, but it is equally a muscle in every way. The more you work it the stronger it would become, a solid routine promotes consistency. Consistency is how your brain would get stronger, making sure that the brain is stimulated promotes health. Since your room is not crowded anymore you have the vast area to think. It would reduce stress and promote you to always work, not through motivation, but through discipline.
Having a clear routine would make you want to do other things: Having a routine would make you unstoppable, it provides a simple vehicle which could turn on, start, and then continue to do other tasks as well. However the main issue is we need to get the ball rolling, and it seems daunting (even for me at a certain point of time). Cleaning your bed is simple, and it’s only one thing to do. Then you would move on to more complex things (relatively) like doing laundry consistently, and taking out trash every single day
See Happiness in Many Other Things
Happiness, happiness will either
- Come
- Not Come (but more inclined to be in a mood where you can be happier)
Happiness is the feeling which we all crave. Happiness triumphs most every other emotion. Having your bed made up every single day would make you feel happy because you are one step closer to getting done the goals you have today. By making your bed up in the morning you immediately cross that off the bucket list, meaning one less thing to be stressed about.
Conclusion:
Make your bed, you will be happier, feel better, and be closer to completing your goals that you have for today. Just remember for starters to take it slow. You do not need reinvent the wheel, you just have to push it.
